Why I Created Annie

I created Annie because I've spent years living at the intersection of business leadership, coaching, and technology — and I saw firsthand how many capable leaders were drowning in administrative friction instead of focusing on the conversations and decisions that actually move their businesses forward.

As a business owner, I know what it feels like to carry the weight of growth, client expectations, operations, and constant decision-making. Your day gets filled with important work, but too often it also gets consumed by scheduling, follow-up, research, note capture, and all the small tasks that steal time and mental energy. As a coach, I saw the same pattern again and again in the leaders around me: smart, high-performing people were spending too much of their attention managing logistics and not enough on strategy, leadership, and impact.

At the same time, I've always loved technology — especially technology that creates leverage. I've been drawn to tools that don't just automate a task, but actually help people think more clearly, communicate better, and operate at a higher level. When AI began to mature, I saw an opportunity that felt bigger than software for software's sake. I saw the chance to build something genuinely useful: an assistant that could feel natural, stay context-aware, and help executives and business owners get more done without adding more complexity.

Annie was created from that vision. I wanted to build an AI executive assistant that could support real business life — not in theory, but in the messy, fast-moving reality of meetings, travel, follow-ups, client communication, decision support, and day-to-day execution. The goal was to create something that could reduce friction, extend a leader's capacity, and make advanced AI feel practical, personal, and immediately valuable.

This wasn't built in a vacuum. Annie was also shaped with the help of peers from Vistage International — accomplished business leaders who understand the pressures of running companies, leading teams, and making high-stakes decisions. Their perspective helped ground the vision in real executive needs, not just technical possibilities. Those conversations were invaluable in shaping Annie into something built for serious operators: people who value speed, clarity, trust, and leverage.

In many ways, Annie reflects my own background and convictions. It combines my experience as a business owner, my perspective as a coach, and my belief that technology should serve people in a deeply practical way. I didn't create Annie just to showcase AI. I created Annie to help leaders reclaim time, sharpen execution, and stay focused on what matters most.

That's the founding story: a business operator's frustration, a coach's pattern recognition, a technologist's curiosity, and a collaborative push from Vistage peers who saw the same need. Annie exists because I believed leaders deserved more than another tool. They deserved an assistant.
